Radical and extreme special interest groups are plotting to rewrite the Michigan constitution.
WE CAN’T LET THAT HAPPEN!
Every 16 years, the Michigan Constitution automatically places the first question on the ballot in the general election asking voters whether they want to hold a new Constitutional Convention (Con-Con) to amend the state constitution.
A Con-Con allows delegates to make sweeping changes to the state constitution, opening the door for Lansing politicians and special interests to write their own rules and agendas without any accountability or oversight from voters.
This would risk Michigan’s future without any transparency or accountability.
Right now, everyday Michiganders have control of the Michigan Constitution. It needs to stay that way. We can’t allow politicians to change the constitution to enact their own agendas and motives.
Too much is at stake
A Con-Con will have devastating effects on all Michiganders
A Con-Con opens a Pandora’s Box where special interests can completely overhaul and rewrite our state’s constitution.
Wealthy special interest groups want to take away power from Michigan voters by holding a Con-Con that locks voters out of the process and advances their interests – all without transparency or accountability.
Politicians in Lansing, extremist groups, and radical, wealthy donors want to use the Con-Con to rewrite the constitution to promote their own agendas – and not the will of everyday Michiganders. Con-Con delegates will write their own rules and agendas without any accountability or oversight from voters.
A Bipartisan Coalition is Urging You to Vote NO
Our broad coalition of supporters are all working together to raise awareness on the importance of voting NO on a Con-Con because they agree that Michigan shouldn't mess with a constitution that is working.
Vote NO on Proposal 1 to:
Prevent special interests from completely overhauling and rewriting our state’s constitution with potentially devastating consequences for everyday Michiganders
Keep radical and extreme special interest groups from using a Constitutional Convention (Con-Con) to advance their interests and promote their dangerous agendas.
Ensure Michiganders stay in control of the state constitution because voters have a voice now
-
The convention would cost millions of taxpayer dollars, taking that money away from efforts and programs aimed at solving real problems that impact everyday Michiganders.
-
We already have a process to make smart, targeted amendments to the Michigan Constitution that puts voters in charge.
